Choose a schedule based on how quickly residue returns

Start with how your household uses its carts rather than an arbitrary rule. Households placing food scraps, diapers or pet waste into an outdoor bin may see grime build up sooner than a lightly used bin holding mostly dry, bagged waste. Heat, humidity, rainfall, and whether the cart stays in direct sunlight can also influence when cleaning feels worthwhile.

• Monthly: Consider for frequent leaks, consistently unpleasant odors, heavier household use or warm-weather storage. It is the lowest-cost recurring service per visit on NTBC's published schedule.
• Every two months: Consider for moderate use or a household whose bins stay relatively clean between pickups.
• Quarterly: Consider as periodic maintenance for lighter use or cooler parts of the year.
• One-time: Useful after an unusual spill, when moving, or if a customer wants to try professional cleaning without scheduling a repeating visit.

The goal is to reduce persistent residue, not to claim every bin needs machine washing on a fixed timetable. If a cart is unusually dirty or unsafe, a provider may need to review conditions before confirming service.

What is the actual cost for two bins?

Residential service starts with two eligible trash and/or recycling bins at one address. The first cleaning costs $59.95 for two bins, including customers beginning a recurring plan. After that introductory cleaning, two-bin visits cost $29.95 monthly, $39.95 every two months or $49.95 quarterly; additional eligible bins are $10 each per visit. Rates are before applicable taxes and special handling charges. There is no minimum number of recurring visits and no early-cancellation fee, but customers must cancel before the next billing date to stop a renewal.

Does the cleaning day have to match my garbage pickup day?

No. NTBC confirms a professional cleaning date after verifying provider coverage, route capacity and bin access. The date may be different from municipal collection day. On the confirmed date, leave two empty eligible bins at the approved service location. Providing your collection schedule helps us plan, but it is not itself a confirmed service time.
