Machine washing removes visible buildup. Sanitizing treatment helps reduce microorganisms on treated surfaces, while deodorizing addresses odor causing residue.
Clean both residential bins together
Published residential prices cover the first standard bin, and additional bins can be added at the plan’s listed additional-bin rate. This makes it easy to clean the trash bin and recycling bin during the same scheduled visit.
Recycling containers need different preparation
A recycling cart may collect drips from cans and bottles, sticky packaging residue, paper fibers and loose materials that remain after the recycling truck empties it. A specialized machine wash can help remove residual deposits. However, NTBC does not sort materials, remove garbage bags from a full bin or transport recyclables.
Some municipalities use large wheeled recycling carts, while others issue small non-wheeled baskets. Do not assume every recycling container can be lifted or safely machine-washed; provide the container type and dimensions when making the request.
Can one trash cart plus one recycling cart qualify?
Yes, when both are eligible compatible wheeled bins at the same address. NTBC requires a minimum of two eligible bins per residential visit, and there is no single-bin residential appointment. One garbage cart with only a small hand-carried basket may not meet the equipment requirement.
The first eligible two-bin cleaning costs $59.95 for a one-time or new recurring order. Subsequent two-bin recurring rates begin at $29.95 monthly, $39.95 every two months or $49.95 quarterly. Additional eligible bins are $10 each per visit, before applicable taxes and unusual handling.
Book around the actual collection routine
Provide the recycling pickup day and where the empty carts can be accessed. Cleaning may occur on a different date from recycling collection because NTBC must verify the professional cleaning route separately.
